The question as to what constitutes a successful life remains a heated debate, with many people assuming that success boils down to diligence and perseverance, whereas others argue that other aspects are of more significance. This essay elaborates on both viewpoints before expressing my personal perspective on this contentious matter.

On the one hand, there exist various justifications for the belief that hard work and will power is the key factor conducive to success. To begin with, industriousness instills in individuals a sense of commitment and dedication that propel them to work relentlessly and strive for bettering themselves. Therefore, such unwavering efforts can help them foster their skills while also overcoming their shortcomings, hence enabling them to fulfill their ambitions successfully. In addition, determination also serves as a powerful motivator that helps people surmount failure, an evitable part of their path to success. For instance, despite being rejected by several publishers, with her sheer resolution, J.K. Rowling still persevered with her ambition and later became the first billion-dollar author with the Harry Potter series. 

On the other hand, it is also reasonable to claim that other contributors such as thoughtful planning or fortune play a more vital role in gaining success. Indeed, with well-defined objectives and thorough preparation, individuals could take specific actions and make informed decisions that gravitate them towards their goal. This, in turn, can help them concentrate on the pre-planned work without being affected by unwelcome distractions, thereby rendering their path to success more straightforward. Furthermore, luck is also crucial to success as it provides people with a condition favorable to their goal accomplishment. This can be exemplified by Justin Bieber, whose current prosperity and status could not have been achieved if he had not risen to fame after some simple covering versions in the early years of Youtube boom in the 1970s.  

In conclusion, advocates of both standpoints irrefutably have sound arguments for their convictions. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that one’s success is the culmination of multiple factors, including luck, perseverance and detailed planning, with no single element being the sole contributor to life success.
