In the current technology-driven and information-laden era, the development of such interactive devices as smartphones, laptops or tablets is assumed by many people to bring more harm than good to users. Personally, I completely disapprove of this viewpoint, arguing that the drawbacks of this development are vastly eclipsed by its potential benefits.

One of the notable advantages conferred by the growing use of communication technology lies in more straightforward interaction. Indeed, in the past, contact via letters was not only time-consuming but also risky due to transportation mishaps, which obstructed the interacting process between both writers and responders. Nonetheless, such a challenge would no longer be encountered given the advent of social media platforms, which can transcend geographical boundaries, enabling users to connect more freely and conveniently.

Another significant merit of utilizing technological devices for communicative purposes is its ability to expand individuals’ networking tremendously. Since web-based applications operate on a global scale, with just a few clicks, consumers from across the world  can meet and make friends with one another effortlessly irrespective of their location. This can be vividly exemplified by such social forums as Facebook, Linkedin or Zoom, which facilitate interaction among people from virtually anywhere, thereby broadening their personal and professional relationships alike.

Although technology has revolutionized the way individuals communicate, the risks of undermining genuine interpersonal connection cannot be overlooked. It stands to reason that only face-to-face interaction can effectively forge emotional bonds through gestures, direct eye contact and other non-verbal cues, which virtual communication fails to fulfill. Therefore, being frequently exposed to technological devices may propel people to gradually detach themselves from others, thus leading a reclusive existence.

In conclusion, interactive technologies irrefutably serve as a powerful catalyst for mutual communication. Nevertheless, I am convinced that users should strike a balance between the virtual and actual worlds so as to fully embrace the benefits of this useful tool while avoiding its pitfalls.
