The chart below shows the number of magazines sold per person in five countries in 2000 and 2010, with projected sales for 2020.

2. Phân tích và chọn số liệu quan trọng cho đề thi IELTS Writing Task 1 ngày 01/07/2023

Country A, B, C:

• 2000: country A and B the highest with approximately 50 copies
• 2010: fell to about 45 (country A) and 47 (country B)
• 2020: slight drops to 38 (country A) and 45 (country B) 
• Country C: a similar downward trend to country B // decline steadily from about 37 to 32 in 2020

Country D, E:

• Country D: modest at under 20 in 2000 and 2010 // only country rose // reach 23 in 2020
• Country E: < 10 magazines a year in the given period // the lowest

3. Bố cục bài viết

Introduction (paraphrase đề bài) & Overview (nêu xu hướng chính & những đặc điểm nổi bật – main features của bài):

• (overview for trend) country D tăng // còn lại giảm
• (overview for comparison) country B luôn có số lượng lớn nhất // country E luôn có số lượng thấp nhất

Body paragraph 01 (số lượng tạp chí bán ra của country A, B, C).

Body paragraph 02 (số lượng tạp chí bán ra của country D, E).

4. Bài mẫu – IELTS Sample Band 8.0+ cho đề thi IELTS Writing Task 1 ngày 01/07/2023

The bar chart compares and shows changes in magazine circulation per head in five different countries between 2000 and 2020. Overall, it is predicted that magazine sales figures for country D will increase slightly, in contrast to drops of varying degrees in those for other countries. It is also of note that country B and E continued to have the highest and lowest circulation per head in 2020.

In 2000, magazine sales in country A and B were by far the highest with approximately 50 copies per head. These two figures then fell to about 45 and 47 in 2010 before slight drops to 38 and 45 sold magazines respectively in 2020. country C  experienced a similar downward trend to country B, with the figure declining steadily from about 37 to 32 copies per person in 2020.

Although figures for country D were modest at under 20 in 2000 and 2010, it is the only country whose figure rose, reaching 23 units sold per head in 2020. Regarding country E, an average person bought fewer than 10 magazines a year in the given period, marking the lowest circulation per head in the chart.
