The given chart shows the water level in reservoirs in cities in Australia in October 2009 and October 2010. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Darwin, Canberra, Melbourne, and Brisbane:

• Darwin started at 75% // the largest proportion // increase to 80% in October 2010
• Canberra and Melbourne: a 23-percent rise for the former from 50% to 73% and a less remarkable one for the latter of 10% to 45%
• Brisbane: underwent a dramatic increase // peak of 100% in 2010 // compared to its initial figure // at only 75% in 2009

Sydney and Perth:

• Perth: the only decline // halving to only 26%
• Sydney: kept an unchanged // at 50%

4. Bài mẫu – IELTS Sample Band 8.0+ cho đề thi IELTS Writing Task 1 ngày 06/07/2023

The bar chart compares the maximum levels of water contained in reservoirs in six different Australian cities in October 2009 and October 2010. Overall, an upward pattern was witnessed in the reservoir water levels in three cities including Darwin, Canberra, and Melbourne, as opposed to a stability in the figure for Sydney and a significant decrease for Perth. During the given period, Brisbane overtook Darwin to contain the largest amount of water in its reservoirs.

In terms of the four cities seeing an increase in their water levels, the water levels in Darwin started at 75% with the largest proportion of water, followed by an increase to 80% in October 2010. A similar upward trend was observed in the levels of water in both Canberra and Melbourne, with a 23-percent rise for the former from 50% to 73% and a less remarkable one for the latter of 10% to 45% in 2010. During the given time, Brisbane underwent a dramatic increase to a peak of 100% capacity in 2010 compared to its initial figure, at only 75%, in 2009.

Regarding the two remaining cities, only in Perth did the water levels decline, with the figure halving to only 26% in 2010. Meanwhile, reservoirs in Sydney kept an unchanged level of water, at 50% capacity.
