CÁCH TĂNG BAND ĐIỂM CHO TIÊU CHÍ LEXICAL RESOURCES TRONG IELTS WRITING TASK 2
Để đạt số điểm cao trong kỳ thi IELTS, các bạn cần lưu ý phát triển đều dựa trên bốn tiêu chí của IELTS writing, bao gồm Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resources, Grammar, và Task Achievement. Trong số các tiêu chí trên, IPP nhận thấy học viên đang hiểu lầm tiêu chí Lexical Resources nhất.
Tiêu chí Lexical Resources của band điểm 7 được miêu tả như sau:
- The resource is sufficient to allow some flexibility and precision. => Điều này có nghĩa rằng các bạn phải có vốn từ đủ để trả lời câu hỏi đề bài, dùng từ vựng đúng và linh hoạt.
- There is some ability to use less common and/or idiomatic items.
- An awareness of style and collocation is evident, though inappropriacies occur. => Hai điểm này đều yêu cầu các bạn cần sử dụng các cụm từ ‘hiếm’ và phải sử dụng một cách hợp lý, đúng ngữ cảnh
- There are only a few errors in spelling and/or word formation and they do not detract from overall clarity. => Các bạn có thể mắc lỗi sai dạng của từ hoặc viết sai chính tả nhưng không làm người đọc khó hiểu
Có nhiều bạn đang lầm tưởng rằng việc sử dụng các từ vựng ‘khủng’, các từ vựng ‘không ai biết’ sẽ giúp các bạn được band điểm cao. Tuy nhiên, việc sử dụng các từ vựng phù hợp với chủ đề, hay còn gọi là TOPIC-RELATED VOCABULARY một cách chính xác mới là chìa khoá giúp các bạn đạt số điểm cao cho tiêu chí này. Ngoài ra, việc sử dụng MỘT từ vựng riêng lẻ cũng không hiệu quả bằng các CỤM TỪ, COLLOCATIONS các bạn nhé!
Ví dụ: Đối với đề writing phía dưới, chủ đề đặt ra là saving money, vì vậy các bạn có thể tham khảo một số topic-related phrases như sau:
- personal finance management: khả năng quản lý tài chính cá nhân
- set aside = save money
- adhere to a saving plan: tuân theo một kế hoạch tiết kiệm
- instant gratification: thú vui nhất thời
- financial literacy: sự hiểu biết về tài chính
- idle money: tiền nhàn rỗi
- career aspiration: khát vọng nghề nghiệp
- employability: khả năng tuyển dụng
- financial security / stability: sự ổn định về mặt tài chính
- startup venture: công ty khởi nghiệp

It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
In recent decades, personal finance management has received constant attention, which has sparked a heated debate whether people, especially youngsters, should set aside money for later use. I totally agree that young people should adopt such a practice for their personal and professional growth.
First, the accumulation of money over time may help to foster positive traits essential for young people’s development. Adhering to a saving plan requires discipline and perseverance. When youngsters save a portion of their earnings, they could learn the importance of prioritizing their financial goals over instant gratification. Such self-control not only helps them manage their finances responsibly but also translates into other aspects such as evaluation and decision-making skills. As a result, this would form a foundation for financial literacy and security in the long term.
Another reason supporting my argument is that by saving money, young people can increase their likelihood of success in their career. Having a certain amount of idle money allows people to pursue higher education, acquire specialized skills, and embrace opportunities to expand their networks. These investments enhance their skillset and employability, which contribute to brighter career prospects. For instance, a prepared financial resource might encourage a young entrepreneur to fund his startup venture or pursue innovative ideas. In other words, saved money prepares youngsters for unforeseen opportunities and pursues their career aspirations with greater confidence.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly support the practice of saving money for future use as its benefits are undeniable, including instilling desirable virtues in young people and enhancing their career prospects.
