Over recent decades, topics revolving around the influence of cross-border collaboration have given rise to heated controversies worldwide. Several people assume that such a collective attempt primarily benefit environment protection, whereas others deem business undertakings as the major merit. The following essay will elaborate on both viewpoints before stating my personal perspective on this contentious matter.
On the one hand, the belief that multinational cooperation mainly exerts favorable impacts on safeguarding the environment is justifiable to a certain extent. To begin with, collaborative efforts manifested in such forms as transnational assemblies or treaties play a crucial role in addressing global ecological issues effectively. This can clearly be exemplified by the Kyoto Protol, an international agreement developed under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which encourages 192 parties to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions sustainably. Furthermore, cross-border collaboration can serve as a catalyst for certain countries’ development of technology aimed at protecting the environment. Specifically, more affluent nations namely the US or EU can provide financial and technological aid to less developed, resource-constrained ones that are ravaged by environmental degradation, thereby contributing to improved living conditions for all.
On the other hand, it is also reasonable to claim that the key advantage of cooperating internationally lies in the world of business. Firstly, enterprises’ profitability and growth can tremendously benefit from global collaborative acts. Since transnational partnership offers corporations increased access to their consumer base on a larger scale, their trading scope would no longer be confined by geographical boundaries, thus allowing them to maximize their profits and enhance the generation of revenue. On a larger scale, economic collaboration can also boost on global economic integration by encouraging countries to focus on their competitiveness and provide supply to other parts of the world. In this way, developing countries like Vietnam and Africa play a vital role in the global supply of agricultural produce while the US and China serve as the main suppliers in the technology realm.
In conclusion, advocates of both standpoints indisputably have valid arguments for their conviction. Personally, however, I would contend that the benefits of international cooperation are not constricted merely within the realms of environment and economics but positively affect all domains for the sake of long-term human prosperity.
