While many people go to university for academic study, more people should be encouraged to do vocational training because there is a lack of qualified workers such as electricians and plumbers. To what you agree or disagree with this statement?

Quan điểm người viết: totally disagree với ý tưởng khuyến khích người trẻ theo hướng vocational training vì 2 lý do.
- Body par 01 – Lý do 01: Ý tưởng này là không cần thiết vì sự phát triển công nghệ sẽ giảm nhu cầu lao động phổ thông và chân tay trong tương lai => không cần khuyến khích nhiều người trẻ học nghề vì máy móc, công nghệ sẽ giải quyết vấn đề thiếu hụt lao động chân tay
- Body par 02 – Lý do 02: Ý tưởng này không bền vững vì khuyến khích nhiều người trẻ theo hướng lao động tay nghề sẽ gây ra tình trạng thiếu hụt nhân lực tay nghề cao => ngăn cản các phát minh và sáng kiến công nghệ cao => cản trở sự phát triển kinh tế, xã hội của thế giới về lâu dài

It goes without saying that society always needs a skilled workforce to function and grow. Employees of different professions contribute differently to the thriving of the community; therefore, I disagree with the statement that vocational courses should be given any more weight than before.
One reason for my disbelief is related to the unneccessity of promoting vocational pursuits. Although there has been a shortage of capable blue-collar workers in recent years as a result of preferences for office jobs, constant technological advancements together with automization in various aspects would make large numbers of these workers redundant in the near future. Therefore, the application of robots and artificial intelligence in many aspects would address problem of manual labor shortage automatically in the long run, while encouraging more young people to get involved in such jobs would result in a surplus and high unemployment rates among these low-skilled workers.
Another point for my argument is that directing more people to take a vocational path may unsustainably lead to a shortage of innovators in intellectual fields, who may otherwise create more wealth for society. For example, fewer engineers would mean lower productivity, and a dearth of scientists may inhibit scientific discoveries which can provide us with a better life in the future. In contrast, those doing blue-collar jobs may face redundancy when too many applicants compete for the same position. An unbalanced workforce in this situation might hold society back from continual technological, social, and economic progress in the long run.
In conclusion, I believe the workforce will adjust itself to cater for the needs of society, so there is no need to direct young people to follow a particular career path. In fact, there should be a change towards the belief that vocational training is as important as tertiary education.
