Men:
- Everyday: one quarter utilized basis in 2011// increased substantially to 45% to top the chart three years later.
- Never: a drastic plunge from 44% to just 30%
- Once and few times a week: a moderate decline of 3% to 9% and 16% respectively
Women:
- 2011: once a week accounted for 39% // far exceeding daily and frequent users by 9% and 17% respectively
- 2014: everyday skyrocketed to 59% // roughly 6 times once and few times a week // never experienced a significant rise, occupying 22%

The pie charts compare the gender-based proportion of digital networking users in Australia in two years, 2011 and 2014. Overall, an upward trend was registered in the daily consumption of online media, whereas the opposite was true for other degrees of usage. Furthermore, women proved to be more frequent internet users compared to their male counterparts in both years.
With reference to men, only one quarter of Australian males utilized online socialization on a daily basis in 2011, which increased substantially to 45% to top the chart three years later. By sharp contrast, a drastic plunge from 44% to just 30% was witnessed in the percentage of men never using web-based networking sites. Similarly but less strikingly, the figures for those consuming digital media once and few times a week also underwent a moderate decline of 3% to 9% and 16% respectively in the latter year.
Regarding the opposite sex, in 2011, Australian women who engaged in networking online once a week accounted for 39% of the total percentage, far exceeding that of daily and frequent users by 9% and 17% respectively. Over the following 3 years, everyday usage of web-based networking skyrocketed to a majority of 59%, roughly 6 times as high as the figure for women consuming cyber media once and few times a week. Meanwhile, those who never tried this form of networking also experienced a significant rise, occupying 22% of all surveyed women.
