CÁCH THỂ HIỆN QUAN ĐIỂM TRONG DẠNG BÀI AGREE OR DISAGREE

Đề bài đưa ra ý kiến: Tất cả học sinh nên được yêu cầu học môn nghệ thuật và âm nhạc ở trường cấp hai / cấp ba. Lưu ý secondary school ở những nước khác bao gồm cả secondary và high school ở Việt Nam. Các bạn học sinh ở secondary school ở nước Anh sẽ khoảng 12 đến 18 tuổi.

Để đưa ra quan điểm trong đề bài IELTS Writing Task 2 dạng Agree Or Disagree, các bạn có thể lưu ý những vị trí sau:

Vị trí 1: Thesis statement => Đây là vị trí bắt buộc

Ví dụ: While some advocate that all secondary school students should be required to take art and music classes, I largely disagree with this view, acknowledging the nature of these subjects and the lack of learning resources.

Vị trí 2: Topic sentence đoạn 1

Ví dụ: The first reason why I doubt the inclusion of arts and music in the secondary school curriculum should be mandatory is that it takes away the joy of learning.

Vị trí 3: Topic sentence đoạn 2

Ví dụ: Another appealing reason to not make music and arts a compulsory part of the school’s curriculum is associated with classroom resources.

Vị trí 4: Conclusion => Đây là vị trí bắt buộc

Ví dụ: Although the teaching of art and music as compulsory subjects holds significant weight, I am more convinced of the potential harms brought by this initiative.

Có nhiều người cho rằng người viết không nên dùng “I” trong bài vì sẽ giảm tính trang trọng cho bài viết, tuy nhiên điều này chỉ áp dụng nếu các bạn sử dụng “I” để viết những ví dụ mang tính cá nhân. Việc dùng “I” để thể hiện quan điểm là hết sức bình thường và sẽ không ảnh hưởng đến số điểm writing của bạn.

All students should be required to study art and music in secondary school. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The debate regarding whether arts and music should be compulsory secondary subjects has gained significant traction. While some advocate that all secondary school students should be required to take art and music classes, I largely disagree with this view, acknowledging the nature of these subjects and the lack of learning resources.

The first reason why I doubt the inclusion of arts and music in the secondary school curriculum should be mandatory is that it takes away the joy of learning. Compared to other academic subjects like math, languages, or literature, which require logical and critical skills, music and arts lessons are ideal environments that foster students’ creative skills and freedom in self-expression. This makes forced learning of these subjects highly ineffective, leading to learners’ dissatisfaction and more seriously, resentment towards studying.

Another appealing reason to not make music and arts a compulsory part of the school’s curriculum is associated with classroom resources. Arts and music lessons require a range of costly equipment and materials, such as drawing tools or musical instruments, which are not always affordable for every public school’s pupil. Such prohibitively high costs eventually make teaching arts and music at public school very problematic, especially in terms of efficiency and sustainability.

However, advocates of this view may point to an individual’s well-rounded development. Exposure to different forms of music and arts enriches art knowledge, fosters one’s creativity, nurtures their empathy, and expands their perspectives. All of these values are key to one’s emotional and social skills development, contributing to their cognitive growth.

To conclude, although the teaching of art and music as compulsory subjects holds significant weight, I am more convinced of the potential harms brought by this initiative. The most effective approach, therefore, is to integrate arts and music in the curriculum, yet making them optional.
