The pie charts below show the percentage of time working adults spent on different activities in a particular country in 1958 and 2008.
2. Phân tích và chọn số liệu quan trọng
Năm 1968:
- Working: 33% // 1% higher than sleeping.
- Going out with friends or family: nearly one fourth of total time // 3% higher than the total of the remaining activities, at 19% and 16% in order
Năm 2008:
- Working: rose significantly // topping the chart at 42% // roughly tripling relaxing at home (13%)
- Travel to work and other activities or playing sports: a slight increase to 8%
- Going out & sleeping: a sharp decrease // going out: plummeting from 19% to only 6% after 40 years

The two pie charts compare the time expenditure among employees on various activities during the period 1968-2008. Overall, the percentage of time working adults spent on sleeping and going out declined dramatically while the opposite was true for the other activities. It is also clear that working continued to occupy the largest proportion of a worker’s time over the given time span.
In 1968, up to 33% of adults’ time was put into working, which was 1% higher than the figure for sleeping. Meanwhile, these workers allocated nearly one fourth of their total time to going out with friends or family, which was 3% higher than the figure for the remaining activities, at 19% and 16% in order.
Regarding changes until 2008, the proportion of time expense on working rose significantly to continue topping the chart at 42%, roughly tripling that of relaxing at home (13%). Likewise, a slight increase to 8% was recorded in the figure for both travel to work and other activities or playing sports. By contrast, there was a sharp decrease in time spent on the other two activities, particularly going out with data recorded plummeting from 19% to only 6% after 40 years.
