Cách vận dụng từ vựng chủ đề Change vào IELTS Speaking

I. Từ vựng cho:Thay đổi thường xuyên (Frequent Change)
⇒ All tickets other than the lowest economy-class tickets are now changeable, according to a new policy from several airlines.
⇒ The iPhone weather app has updated a specific function to update the rain prediction for users in Pittsburgh due to the city’s unpredictable weather.
⇒ Jennie’s work schedule is quite unpredictable.
- Erratic (sự thay đổi nhiều lần)
⇒ Lana is not erratic at all, but her attitude today changed so suddenly that one minute she’ll just grin at you and the next she won’t even talk to you.
- Fluid (linh hoạt)
⇒ The private bar is undoubtedly a better match to host Anna’s bachelorette party, therefore the venue selection procedure is fluid.
- Volatile (biến động)
⇒ The protests around the States are increasing due to the change in abortion law, creating a volatile situation in security.
- From one day to the next/From day to day
⇒ She has had menopausal syndrome, which has caused her moods to fluctuate from day to day. We are working to make her as comfortable as we can at this challenging time.
- Chop and change (tiếp tục thay đổi)
⇒ The team chose to return to our original project plan after three months of chopping and changing.
II. Từ vựng cho: Mức độ thay đổi (The degree of change)
- Remain unchanged (không thay đổi)
⇒ The way of life in Scottish communities has remained unchanged throughout the years.
- Imperceptibly (từ từ)
⇒ Vietnamese vocabulary changes imperceptibly over the century.
- Radical (căn bản) = drastic
⇒ The system has to undergo some radical adjustments.
⇒ The director called for drastic changes in feminist practices in the fashion industry to address the problem.
- Seismic (sự thay đổi vô cùng lớn và mang tính lâu dài)
⇒ The workplace atmosphere needs to undergo seismic transformation within the organization.
- Unrecognizable (thay đổi chóng mặt)
⇒ After the nuclear accident happened in Chornobyl, the town became unrecognizable.
- Beyond (all) recognition (không thể nhận ra)
⇒ In the ten years after our previous encounter at the university graduation ceremony, Ida has changed beyond recognition.
III. Từ vựng cho: Slight change
- Adapt (thích nghi)
⇒ Most of the Windows options can be adapted for other operating systems such as Ubuntu.
- Adjust (điều chỉnh để phù hợp hơn)
⇒ If the globe failed to contain the epidemic from 2020 to 21 then 2022 is seen as the year of adjusting to new circumstances.
- Modify (cải thiện)
⇒ Anyone with a smartphone may modify images to their heart’s content. Even photo distortion is possible with Instagram and other photographic applications.
IV. Từ vựng cho: Major Change
- Transform (chuyển biến tích cực)
⇒ Overnight, the trial between Deep and Heard transformed the whole industry.
- Overhaul (đại trùng tu)
⇒ The corporation made the decision to overhaul its surroundings by putting new technology, office supplies, and equipment in the classes.
- Revolutionize (cách mạng hóa cách thức)
⇒ Particularly during the epidemic, online dating services like Hinge, Tinder, and Bumble have revolutionized how people date.
- Convert (chuyển đổi)
⇒ In the 17th century, modernization had converted the nation from a prehistoric civilization to an almost industrial one.
V. Từ vựng cho: Specific change
- Morph (thay đổi thành phiên bản khác)
⇒ Twilight revealed that Jaboc would morph into a werewolf in the next movie.
⇒ A few of Formosa’s protests became out of control and morphed into uprisings and anti-government demonstrations.
- Shift (di chuyển)
⇒ Attitudes toward LGBTQ+ society have shifted significantly in the last few years in Vietnam.
- Disrupt (thay đổi trong kinh doanh)
⇒ Musk’s move into buying Twitter disrupted the whole stock market.
VI. Từ vựng Collocations
- Make a change ⇒ Instead of sleeping till noon today, let’s go swimming. It would make a change to your health.
- Implement change ⇒ The changes in the system will be implemented soon.
- Change + be taken place ⇒ Many changes had taken place in my hometown – and not always for the better.
- A changed woman/man ⇒ When we refer to someone as a “changed woman/man,” we are referring to a positive transformation.
VII. Vận dụng vào IELTS Speaking
Q: Do you like changes?
⇒ It really depends. I used to be a creature of habit, therefore I didn’t like unpredictable changes or the terrifying fear of the unknown. However, as I came to understand that adjustments would require me to venture outside of my comfort zone, they would also enable me to better adapt to any future circumstances, no matter how drastic they could be.
Q: Are there any changes in your hometown?
⇒ Definitely! Some folks who haven’t lived here for a long might not even recognize it anymore due to the radical changes it has experienced. The quality of the urban landscape has likely seen the most significant alteration. The majority of tourist destinations have evolved into noteworthy locations; for instance, some old homes have undergone beyond recognition to become Michelin- or fine-dining restaurants.
