As a food lover, there are so many dishes from different countries that I want to try. But today, I’d like to talk about nachos. They’re a popular snack from Mexican cuisine, usually served with salsa. 

In Vietnam, especially in Ho Chi Minh City, there are plenty of Mexican restaurants popping up, which makes it easier for people here to experience this type of food. I’ve heard that Mexican cuisine is known for its rich flavors and delicious taste. There’s actually a Mexican restaurant just a stone’s throw from my apartment in District 2, so I have a great opportunity to try it out. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but my busy schedule keeps getting in the way. I want to enjoy the experience with my husband on a special occasion, rather than just grabbing a quick bite. Plus, I’m a bit worried about the price. You know how foreign foods can be more expensive than local Vietnamese street food, so I want to make sure it’s worth it. 

I first learned about nachos from watching a lot of Mexican and American movies. The characters always rave about the food, and it really piqued my interest. The way they describe the flavors makes me want to try it even more. Also, nachos look so colorful and packed with nutrients. The salsa is made from tomatoes and other veggies, and you can top it with different meats like pork or beef. It seems like a fun and tasty dish that’s also quite filling. I can’t wait to finally give it a go!

Phân tích bài nói 

A. Mở đầu + What it is

Thay vì đi thẳng vào giới thiệu món ăn, bài nói mở đầu bằng cách dẫn gián tiếp – giới thiệu bản thân và nói khái quát về topic:

Sau đó, ta có thể giới thiệu sơ lược về xuất xứ của món ăn: 

-> They’re a popular snack from Mexican cuisine, usually served with salsa. 

B. Where you can eat it

Để trả lời câu hỏi này, bạn có thể bình luận khái quát về mức độ híếm có khó tìm của món ăn ở nơi bạn sống, rồi cụ thể một vài hàng quán có thể thử món này mà bạn biết. 

Độ hiếm: 

-> [rất phổ biến] There are plenty of Mexican restaurants popping up, which makes it easier for people here to experience this type of food.

-> [hiếm] Mexian restaurants are few and far between in my city, so … 

Một vài hàng quán: 

-> There’s actually a Mexican restaurant just a stone’s throw from my apartment in District 2, so I have a great opportunity to try it out.

Nhờ ý này, bạn có thể tự nhiên dẫn vào ý về kế hoạch đi thử món này. Ví dụ, bạn có thể nói tới tại sao tới giờ bạn vẫn chưa thử, trong tương lai sẽ đi ăn với ai,… Đây là cơ hội tốt để bạn có thể sử dụng đa dạng thì:  

• • Quá khứ: My friend tried the dish and this restaurant before, and she highly recommended it to me. 

• Hiện tại hoàn thành I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but my busy schedule keeps getting in the way about the price…

C. How you know about this food +And explain why you would like to try it.

Người nói trả lời câu hỏi thứ 3 rất ngắn “from watching lots of Mexican and American movies”. Điều này hoàn toàn bình thường vì tuỳ vào sự liên quan tới chủ đề và trải nghiệm của mỗi người, độ dài câu trả lời của mỗi câu hỏi sẽ khác nhau. 

Sau đó, người nói có thể dẫn ngay qua câu hỏi cuối để trả lời về tại sao thích món ăn này vì có tính liên quan tới câu trước. 

“The characters always rave about the food, and it really piqued my interest. The way they describe the flavors makes me want to try it even more. Also, nachos look so colorful and packed with nutrients. The salsa is made from tomatoes and other veggies, and you can top it with different meats like pork or beef. It seems like a fun and tasty dish that’s also quite filling. I can’t wait to finally give it a go!

Bạn chú ý, đây là topic về món ăn, do đó cần có sự miêu tả về món ăn với một số từ vựng theo chủ đề: 

• rave about the food
• packed with nutrients 
• top it with different meats like pork and beef 
• Veggies
• quite filling 

Cuối cùng, bạn có thể kết bằng một câu ngắn gọn về cảm xúc mong chờ của mình:

-> I can’t wait to give it a go!

-> I’m so eager to try it!

-> I’m looking forward to give it a shot with my [a person]… I’m sure [A] is gonna love it too.
