[who & what they are like] I’d like to talk about my friend/mom/brother/teacher/colleague/… , who is an incredibly kind and selfless person // always ready to lend a helping hand to others whenever they’re in need.

[describe the person] A is one of the most compassionate individuals I know // has a genuine concern for others’ well-being => goes out of their way to assist them // whether it’s a friend, a family member, or even a stranger, A is always there to offer support and help in any way they can.

[how] She helps others in various ways // if someone is going through a tough time emotionally, A is there to listen => provide a shoulder to lean on // offer comforting words of advice // She/he is an excellent listener and has a knack of making people feel understood and supported // actively engages in volunteering activities and community service projects //

[final thought] my friend/mom/brother/sister… is an extraordinary individual who is very passionate about helping others // => raises people up // contributes to the well-being of the community. Their selfless acts of kindness truly make a positive difference in the lives of others.

1. How can children help their parents at home?

[Opinion] – Yeah, definitely!

Children can lend a hand around the house, pitching in with chores and stuff, to show support for their parents and create a chill home environment.

[Explanation] They can do age-appropriate tasks like setting the table, doing the laundry, or tidying up their rooms => takes some weight off their parents’ shoulders // helping out with meal prep or grocery shopping => get involved and take responsibility. // being aware of their parents’ needs and offering help willingly =>  ease the stress on their parents // build stronger family bonds.

  • pitch in with chores and stuff: Cùng phụ giúp làm việc nhà và các công việc khác
  • takes some weight off their parents’ shoulders: Giảm bớt gánh nặng đối với cha mẹ

2. Should children be taught to help others?

[Positive Opinion] – Absolutely, no doubt!

Teaching kids to lend a hand to others helps them develop empathy, compassion, and wicked life skills that can make a positive impact on themselves and the world.

[Explanation] Getting kids involved in acts of kindness and volunteering => children can see the struggles of others => feel a genuine desire to help // Plus, it instills values like being generous, showing respect, and taking social responsibility => vital for building strong, tight-knit communities // set the kids up to become well-rounded individuals who actively contribute to making society better

[Opinion] Kids helping each other at school is all about friendship, a sense of camaraderie, and creating a collaborative learning vibe.

[Explanation] When kids have solid friendships and feel like they belong within their peer group, they naturally want to support and assist each other academically and emotionally

=> Awesome classroom dynamics, encouraged by teachers and pumped up through team activities, group projects, and collaborative learning // create a culture where peers support and help one another 

when kids see their friends struggling => they can totally empathize and step in to offer a hand => everyone’s success is linked to each other’s progress.

[Explanation] Volunteering helps students to acquire knowledge, life skills and provide service to people who need it most. Besides, community service and volunteering for students give young people the opportunity to become active members in their communities, creating a positive societal impact. => instill the empathy within the young generation 

5. Do students in Vietnam do volunteer work? 

[Opinion] Well, it depends on the school, or the area in which students reside. 

[Explanation] The popularity of volunteering work among students varies from one region to another // mostly occur and be encouraged in major cities where most schools are financially secured => students easily access volunteering work or charitable projects >< students in underprivileged areas are struggling with going to school, let alone participating in such activities. 

6. Why do some people do volunteer work all over the world?

[Opinion] In my mind, there exist numerous reasons as to why some individuals spend their time doing volunteer work, but I believe the main motive stems from their humanity. 

[Explanation]  These people feel the need to show compassion towards the less privileged. They desire to share with these people difficulties and sadness and go to any length to help them overcome troubles. // Volunteering gives these people happiness and the meaning of their lives. They consider it as the part of their responsibility to contribute for the common good. That’s why they are dedicated to participating in volunteer work despite how challenging it is.
