SAMPLE & IDEAS
Today, I want to talk about an important decision that I made. It was a decision that required careful consideration and courage, but it ultimately led to positive changes in my life.
The decision in question was to pursue my passion and start my own business. It was a risky move, but I knew that it was something that I had to do in order to achieve my goals and find fulfillment in my career.
Making this decision was like the saying goes, “taking the bull by the horns.” It required me to face my fears and take control of my future.
But perhaps the most important lesson that I learned from this decision was the value of perseverance. It’s like the old adage goes, “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again,” and starting my own business required me to keep pushing forward, even in the face of setbacks and challenges.
In the end, my decision to start my own business was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. It allowed me to pursue my passion, take control of my career, and find a sense of fulfillment in my work. As the saying goes, “fortune favors the bold,” and I am grateful that I had the courage to take that bold step.

SAMPLE & IDEAS
1. Do you think children sometimes have to make important decisions?
Children, despite their young age, do encounter situations where they have to make important decisions
Children may need to make decisions regarding their education (choosing subjects, extracurricular activities, or selecting educational pathways…) // face choices related to their personal interests and hobbies // need to decide which activities to participate in or which talents to develop // encounter decisions concerning their friendships, social interactions, and peer groups // assess the impact of certain relationships and decide whom to trust, spend time with, or seek support from // make choices based on their personal values and beliefs (ethical dilemmas, moral considerations, or situations) => stand up for what they believe in => making choices aligned with their values helps children develop integrity, empathy, and a sense of responsibility. => These decisions contribute to their social development, self-esteem, and emotional well-being
When faced with important decisions, children can turn to various individuals for guidance and support // Parents, guardians, teachers, and mentors are primary sources of advice and assistance => offer insights, help children explore options, weigh pros and cons, and provide emotional support throughout the decision-making process.
2. What important decisions do teenagers need to make after graduation?
Graduation marks a significant transition in a teenager’s life, and it brings forth important decisions that shape their future.
Teenagers enter a phase where they need to make crucial decisions that shape their educational and career paths // pursue higher education or enter the workforce directly // weigh the benefits of obtaining a degree or diploma against the potential opportunities and financial implications of joining the workforce earlier // decide on their field of study (based on interests, aptitudes, future prospects, and personal goals,…) => choose a field that aligns with their passions and offers growth opportunities // explore potential job opportunities, industry trends, and professional development options => make informed decisions about their career path.
Ultimately, teenagers must seek information, research, and engage in self-reflection to make informed decisions // combine personal aspirations, advice from trusted individuals, and a realistic assessment of available opportunities => navigate this crucial period of their lives and set themselves on a path towards success and personal fulfillment.
3. Who can children turn to for help when making a decision?
Making decisions can be challenging, especially for children who may lack experience and guidance => seeking support from trusted individuals is of great value.
Children often turn to their parents or guardians for advice when making decisions // a deep understanding of their child’s personality, strengths, and weaknesses => offer insights based on their own life experiences // provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children to explore their options and make informed choices // Teachers and Mentors can offer guidance, share knowledge, and provide perspective on various decision-making scenarios // seek advice and opinions from their siblings or peers // face similar decisions or have different perspectives => engaging in discussions and sharing experiences => evaluate choices from various angles.
4. Do you think advertisements can influence our decisions when shopping?
Absolutely! Advertisements are designed to capture our attention, create desire, and influence our purchasing decisions.
Advertisements expose us to new products, services, or brands that we may not have been aware of before // highlight the features, benefits, and unique selling points of a product // instil a sense of curiosity and interest in customers // create aspirational images and use influential figures to enhance the desirability of a product // tap into our desires and emotions // triggering a sense of longing or the fear of missing out (FOMO) // They create a sense of urgency, convincing us that owning a particular product will bring happiness, satisfaction, or social acceptance => leverage psychological techniques to encourage immediate action and drive impulse purchases.
5. Do you think the influence of advertising is good?
[personal opinion] – YES
A platform to disseminate information about products, services, and promotions // helps consumers stay informed about available options, new releases, and the benefits of different offerings => promoting consumption and driving demand for products and services // encourage companies to innovate and improve their products to attract customers => better quality, enhanced features, and increased options for consumers // supports businesses, creates employment opportunities => contributes to the overall development of the economy.
[personal opinion] – NO
Manipulate consumers’ emotions and desires // cause impulsive and unnecessary purchases // use misleading or deceptive tactics to create a false sense of need or urgency => a culture of materialism and excessive consumerism // render possessions and brands become symbols of status and self-worth // greater emphasis on material goods // detract from more meaningful aspects of life // present idealized images of beauty and body standards => creating unrealistic expectations and negatively impacting individuals’ self-esteem and body image.
It is important for individuals to be critical consumers, aware of the persuasive techniques used in advertisements and make choices based on their genuine needs, values, and long-term well-being. // Regulations and ethical advertising practices can also play a role in ensuring that the influence of advertising aligns with the best interests of consumers and society as a whole.
6. How do people usually make important decisions?
People employ different strategies and approaches when making important decisions. While there is no one-size-fits-all method, people make important decisions based on some common ways.
When faced with a significant decision, individuals often begin by gathering relevant information // research, seek advice, consult experts, and explore various sources // conduct a rational analysis, thoughtful consideration of values and priorities // analyze the pros and cons of each option // evaluate the potential benefits and drawbacks, consider feasibility, long-term implications, and personal values // assess the degree of risk associated with each option They identify the factors that are most important to and use them as a framework for evaluating the options // simply rely on their instincts and inner sense of what feels right or aligned with their values => evaluate their choices more thoroughly => navigate important life choices with confidence and clarity.
