[lead-in] I’d like to talk about a place I visited recently, Times Square in New York City. 

[when] I went there during my summer vacation // a winter vacation // on a holiday // after I graduated // on a business trip

[who] with a group of close friends // with my family // just my partner and me // my colleagues also went on this trip

[the place] Times Square is undoubtedly one of the most vibrant and bustling locations in the world, attracting a massive crowd from various walks of life // When we arrived at Times Square, it felt like stepping into a different world // The place was teeming with people // the energy was simply electric //  mesmerizing lights and larger-than-life billboards adorn all buildings in sight 

[activities] In Times Square, people were engrossed in various activities. Some were strolling around, taking pictures of the iconic sights // others were shopping in the numerous stores and boutiques // Street performers entertained the audience with their incredible talents => a mix of laughter, music, and chatter 

=> It was a delightful sight to witness families spending quality time together, couples enjoying romantic moments, and friends like us having a blast exploring this iconic place.

[why] The reason for the abundance of people in Times Square is its reputation as a global entertainment and commercial hub. 

[explain] a magnet that pulls people from all corners of the world // offers a wide range of attractions, including Broadway shows, luxurious shopping opportunities, and world-class dining experiences // the famous New Year’s Eve Ball Drop => iconic moment of the year => millions of people each year to celebrate the turning of the year in grand fashion.

[final thoughts] My visit to Times Square with my … was an unforgettable experience // The immense crowd, vibrant energy, and the plethora of activities happening all around made it a memorable day. Times Square really lives up to its global reputation as an entertainment and commercial hub // I’m in love with the dynamic ambiance of this iconic place

[lead-in] Young people nowadays are quite diverse in their preferences, but there are a few popular hangout spots they tend to gravitate towards. 

[examples] One of the go-to places for young folks is trendy cafes or coffee shops // like Katinat, Highlands, Cheese… => they can socialize, grab a cup of joe, and catch up with friends // take some Insta pics // shopping districts or entertainment centers, where they can immerse themselves in the energetic atmosphere //  Another popular choice is parks or recreational areas => many outdoor activities to participate, especially on weekends.

2. Are people happy living in crowded apartments?

=> some may enjoy the lively ambiance and the opportunities for social interaction >< others may find it challenging to find solace and peace in crowded living arrangements.

4. What are the advantages of living on a higher floor?

[lead-in] Living on a higher floor offers several advantages. 

[reasons] Firstly, it often provides a better view, allowing residents to enjoy panoramic vistas of the surrounding area or cityscape // higher floor => more natural light => the living space feels brighter and more inviting // higher floors tend to be quieter as they are further away from street-level noise => a more peaceful living environment // living on an upper floor can provide a sense of security, as it may be more difficult for strangers to access the higher levels of a building.

5. What are the disadvantages of living on a lower floor?

[lead-in] Living on a lower floor has its own set of disadvantages.

[reasons] Firstly, lower floors are often more susceptible to noise pollution from the street or common areas of the building =>  can be bothersome for residents //  natural light may be a luxury on lower floors due to obstructed views and nearby buildings => potentially darker living space //  privacy can be compromised as lower floors are typically closer to ground-level activities and foot traffic //  lower floors are closer to outdoor areas => face a higher risk of pest intrusion

6. What do you think of the phenomenon of people queuing in restaurants for more than an hour?

[lead-in] people queuing in restaurants for extended periods has become a quite common phenomenon, and opinions about it vary. 

[opinion] Some people view it as a testament to the restaurant’s popularity and quality, making the wait worthwhile // creates a sense of anticipation and prestige => adds an element of exclusivity to the dining experience. 

>< Others, however, might find it frustrating and time-consuming, particularly if they have limited time or are not fond of waiting // also kind of messy => obstruct the works of neighbouring shops // cause inconvenience to pedestrians

=> Nevertheless, for many, the anticipation of trying good food or experiencing a unique dining atmosphere outweighs the inconvenience of queuing => a part of the overall dining adventure.
