You should say: 

• what the development is 
• when/where you noticed it 
• how long it took to complete it 

and explain how you feel about it.

[what] there’s this awesome new development happening in my area [insert the development] // The mall is called “City Square Mall.” 

[when & where] I first noticed it taking shape about a year ago when construction kicked off on this empty plot of land on the edge of town // a giant construction, alway surrounded with trucks and workers => very hard to miss 

[how long] It took them a good … months to finish up City Square Mall // transformed that vacant space into a swanky shopping complex // filled to the brim with all sorts of stores, restaurants, a cinema, and even a cool rooftop garden => It was like witnessing some kind of magical transformation!

[your feeling]  As for how I feel about it, I gotta say I have mixed emotions // I’m super pumped about the convenience it’ll bring // City Square Mall right in our backyard => won’t have to make those long trips to the next town for decent shopping // new job opportunities  // give our local economy a boost

>< I can’t help but worry about how this new mall will impact our local mom-and-pop shops // traditional shops might struggle // cannot compete with all the shiny new stores and deals => a drop in sale // people flocking to the mall => traffic jams during rush hours is definitely a cause for concern

[lead-in] Well, when it comes to transportation, I primarily rely on [my car/public transportation/ride-sharing services/bicycles/walking].

[explain] Using [my car/public transportation/ride-sharing services/bicycles/walking] provides me with the convenience and flexibility I need for my daily commuting and various errands // more affordable => saves a lot of money // eco-friendly => allow me to decrease my carbon footprint

• rely on someone/something: dựa dẫm vào ai/cái gì
• daily commuting and various errands: việc đi làm hằng ngày và các việc đưa đón khác

2. Is public transportation popular in Vietnam?

[lead-in] Absolutely! Public transportation is quite popular in Vietnam, especially in major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

[explain] => Vietnam has an extensive network of buses, taxis, and motorbike taxis (known as “xe om”) that are commonly used by both locals and tourists.

3. What can be improved in public transport services?

[lead-in] Well, there are a few areas where public transport services in Vietnam can be improved.

[explain] the frequency and reliability of bus services => ensuring that buses run on schedule and minimizing delays would enhance the overall convenience for passengers // the development of more efficient and accessible metro or light rail systems => enhance public transportation options // alleviate traffic congestion

• the frequency and reliability: tần suất và đáng tin cậy
• light rail systems: đường sắt loại nhẹ sử dụng đoạn tàu nhỏ và nhẹ hơn
• alleviate traffic congestion: giảm ùn tắc giao thông

4. What leisure facilities can be used by people of all ages?

[lead-in] There are various leisure facilities in Vietnam that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

[explain] Parks and recreational areas //

[examples] public gardens // lakeside promenades => provide spaces for families and individuals to relax, exercise, and engage in outdoor activities // Shopping malls with diverse entertainment options like cinemas, arcades, and indoor playgrounds, are also popular choices for people of all ages to have fun and unwind.

5. Do you think young people in your country like to go to the cinema?

[lead-in] Absolutely! Going to the cinema is a popular leisure activity among young people in Vietnam.

[explain] Modern multiplex cinemas offer comfortable seating // advanced technology // a wide selection of both local and international films => young people enjoy the immersive experience of watching movies on the big screen // going to the cinema provides a social gathering place for friends => enjoy a film together and discuss their favorite scenes afterward
