1. Are you or do you know a person who is allergic to seafood?

It is my younger sister. I don’t know, but as far as I know, she is innately allergic to seafood. My mom often told me about the time when my sister tried seafood for the first time, and then she spent the next 5 days in the hospital. How scary it was!

2. What kind of seafood do you like to eat?

I prefer shrimps and snails. They are really my go-to seafood whenever I travel to seaside areas. They have a strong texture, are a bit chewy and very easy to eat. Compared with crab, it will be a nightmare if I have to separate the skin from the meat.

3. Are there any places in your country that are famous for seafood?

Vietnam is renowned for its marine foods, and one of the best places to experience this is in the coastal city of Nha Trang. Famous for its fresh catches, you can find everything from lobsters to crabs and a variety of fish. Another hotspot is Vung Tau, where seafood lovers flock for its seafood markets and beachside restaurants serving freshly cooked dishes. These places highlight Vietnam’s rich maritime tradition and the culinary artistry of its coastal communities. Quite the treat for the palate!

4. Have you ever tried any expensive seafood?

Yes, I’ve had the chance to try some high-end seafood a few times. One memorable experience was trying bluefin tuna sashimi at a fancy restaurant. It was incredibly fresh and flavorful, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that was well worth the splurge. The quality of the seafood really made it stand out as a special treat.
