I’d take this chance to talk about rice. Its seeds are considered a staple food in every meal. We Vietnamese are extremely proud of it, since it contributes greatly to our economic growth as one of largest rice exporters in the world. Our rice could be on par with that from other nations that have been strongholds for rice cultivation, like China and Thailand. 

Well you can stumble upon a vast paddy field of rice everywhere across the country. Vietnam is extremely lucky to be blessed with abundant vegetation and tropical climates that provide favorable conditions for rice crops. But it’s a pity that I have never witnessed rice fields in person, especially when they are ready to be harvested. I’ve heard through the grapevine that it’s the harvest season when rice flowers emit a charming fragrance that permeates through the air. 

About its appearance, It’s quite recognizable. Despite its enormous values, the plant is slender, with green color covering from root to top. Its height and color are apparently bound to change in accordance with its maturity and each season of a year. But like I said, I’ve never seen a rice plant that is fully mature so what can I say?

Well, not only does it bring tremendous benefits for our country but I would say, It’s also an intrinsic part of each Vietnamese childhood. We grow up with rice in every meal, and can make several dishes that can accompany it. The dish called “Cá kho tộ”, or to translate “braised fish”, which is served with rice, has made its name in the gastronomic world after a Vietnamese cook  had introduced it on a globally acclaimed cooking show “Master Chef”. And, honestly, whenever I travel abroad, I can’t go a day without filling up my stomach with some rice dish. It just alleviates my nostalgia and makes me feel secure for the rest of the day. Well, If i have a chance, I will certainly like to give a shot at growing this plant, seeing it germinate from a tiny little seed to become a fully grown rice plant.

Cấu trúc bài nói đi theo các câu hỏi trong đề, tuy nhiên liên hệ tới người nói thông qua biểu đạt cảm xúc, ký ức, trải nghiệm. 

A. Mở đầu: 

Đi thẳng vào giới thiệu loài cây và tầm quan trọng vĩ mô trong bài thi IELTS Speaking Part 2 sẽ giúp bạn trả lời được câu hỏi trọng tâm ngay từ đầu tránh nguy cơ có thể lạc đề sau đó. 

• a staple food in every meal.
•  it contributes greatly to our economic growth
• one of largest rice exporters

Để nhấn mạnh tầm quan trọng trong bài thi IELTS Speaking, người nói so sánh với các quốc gia khác: 

•  Our rice could be on par with that from other nations that have been strongholds for rice cultivation

B.Where you see it

Thay vì đưa ra cụ thể nơi chốn, bạn có thể mật độ dày đặc của loài cây này: 

• “ you can stumble upon a vast paddy field of rice everywhere across the country”  
• this tree is few and far between

Và thêm thông tin về những điều kiện thiên nhiên, con người nào giúp cây náy sinh trưởng: 

• to be blessed with abundant vegetation and tropical climates that provide favorable conditions for rice crops.

Bạn cũng có thể liên hệ cá nhân, bằng cách chia sẻ bạn đã thấy cây này ngoài đời chưa.

• It’s a pity that I have never witnessed rice fields in person, especially when they are ready to be harvested. I’ve heard through the grapevine that it’s the harvest season when rice flowers emit a charming fragrance that permeates through the air. 

C.  What it looks like

Đây là câu hỏi khó để đi sâu nhất trong bài vì cần những từ vựng chuyên dụng đặc tả cây cối. Bạn có thể mở đầu bằng một nhận xét khái quát về hình dáng:

• About its appearance, It’s quite recognizable. 
• It’s quite distinguished from other trees

Sau đó bạn có thể nói sơ lược về 1 hoặc 2 đặc điểm nổi bật và đề cập tới 1 hoặc 2 bộ phận của cây thông dụng. Bạn nên thẳng thắn trình bày những khía cạnh mình không biết rõ và cố gắng nói một chút về nói rồi đi tiếp tới các khía cạnh khác.

D. And explain why it is important

Đây là câu hỏi đã được trả lời ở phần đầu bài nói. Do đó, bạn có thể: 

1. Lặp lại ý đã nói dùng “like I said” -> cách này khá khó vì đòi hỏi bạn phải paraphrase 

2. Tận dụng để đưa bài nói gần gũi hơn bằng cách nói về tầm quan trọng đối với cá nhân mỗi người, và với bản thân bạn.

3. Cuối cùng, bạn có thể kết bằng một ước muốn, hy vọng nào đó dùng cấu trúc Conditional để tăng điểm ngữ pháp:
