You should say:

SAMPLE

One field of study I’m particularly interested in is psychology. I’ve always been fascinated by how the human mind works, how people think, feel, and behave in different situations. The idea of understanding the deeper aspects of human behavior and what drives decision–making really intrigues me.

Why am I interested in psychology? It all goes back to the time when I was younger, I was really into observing how people around me reacted to various life situations and how emotional and mental states influenced their actions. I became even more drawn to it after reading books and watching documentaries on mental health and cognitive development.

I definitely think I could pursue this field, maybe through further study or even by taking some psychology courses. I’m particularly interested in applying psychological principles to help others, whether through counseling, mental health advocacy, or even understanding human behavior in a business context. I can also help myself. Sometimes understanding certain psychological behaviors can help me avoid certain toxic behaviors and let the good ones thrive. Overall, understanding the complexities of the human mind can improve relationships, enhance personal well–being, and contribute to a more empathetic society.

1. How do people usually choose their field of study?

There are various ways for one to choose their field of study. People may choose one study as it is up to their alley and aligns with their interests. For example, those who have an interest in art may prefer to pursue their education at an art school, rather than devoting their time to studying biology. In other cases, people choose that field because it is suitable with the current societal situation. Many students now prefer to pursue a career in technology, considering the fact that it is dominating our modern world.

2. Do you think it's important for people to study something they are passionate about?

Yes definitely. (Point) When choosing the right field of study, students can have more motivation to pursue their education. (Opinion) This factor is indeed very crucial, as a career follows one individual all their whole life and the educational pursuit of their chosen field is a long–term one; therefore, only when they choose the right field can they 100% put their effort in studying and reaching their full potential.

3. How can studying a particular field help someone in their future career?

That’s an interesting one! (Point) Studying a particular field can significantly help someone in their future career by providing specialized knowledge. (Effect) Such deep knowledge gives them a good head start when they start a job in their chosen field. In addition, pursuing one particular field also gives learners better stability and better vision for their future. Sometimes people get lost as they couldn’t their real interested fields

4. Are there any fields of study that you think are more important in today's world?

Our world has changed quite remarkably, and there are certain fields that are dominating the world now. One of them is technology. Most of our modern fields rely on technology for connection and development. For example, logistic fields use the same cloud storage – a digital storage with many other manufacturing fields to keep track of their products – and once this digital storage is broken, a huge chaos may be caused to various industries. Environmental field is another that evokes great concern in our society. Due to industrialization, our environment is getting worse. Therefore, human resources needed for this field of study are essential, and its roles are getting heavier in our today’s world.

5. How do educational institutions support students in exploring different fields of study?

Educational institutions provide an ideal environment for students to explore their chosen fields of study. They offer advanced facilities such as laboratories or computer rooms for students to research different fields. It is not to mention that some institutions offer cross–department studies, and students can have the freedom to explore various fields of study.

6. Do you believe that the choice of field of study affects a person's social status?

I think it depends. Several factors can affect one person’s social status, not only their chosen academic pursuits. In certain cases, it is true that one field of study affects the social rankings of an individual. Some fields offer higher chances of achieving better financial achievements, due to their increased importance in our society, such as technology or healthcare. However, considering the constant change in job markets, other factors should also be counted, such as interpersonal skills and  expertise.
